Join Professor David Shallcross (School of Engineering) and Associate Professor Brad Potter (Business and Economics) for a discussion around maximising opportunities in academia. Both have significant international experience and valuable insight into research and research grants, academic publishing, industry partnerships and teaching. Regardless of your discipline, David and Brad's insights into academic success will provide a wealth of information and ideas.
David has a strong range of industry linkages including the water purification, environmental and dairy industries. He is also a passionate engineering educator and is Director of the Engineering Learning Unit. He represents Engineering on the Centre for Workplace Leadership team and is a former Head of Department. David is also currently editor-in-chief of the journal Education for Chemical Engineers.
Brad is an Associate Professor in accounting and a Director of the Centre for Accounting and Industry Partnerships. A key focus of his efforts has been to build research capacity involving industry partners including the National Water Commission, Royal Botanic Gardens and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Brad sits on the editorial committee of three journals and lectures at the undergraduate, graduate and executive education levels. .
